Science + Engineering Industry Facts for Successful Conventions and Meetings in Cleveland

Science + Engineering Industry

Cleveland has a rich history of civil, mechanical and industrial engineering. Some of Cleveland's greatest scientists and engineers include Charles F. Brush, inventor of the arc light and Garrett Morgan, inventor of the gas mask and the traffic light. These inventors helped turn Cleveland into an early center of the electrical industry.

Recent years have seen strong growth for small, agile and progressive high tech companies in Northeast Ohio. This growth is capturing the attention of industry experts across the nation. The growth of the IT sector in Northeast Ohio is strongly connected to the simultaneous explosion of other high tech industries, including biomedical, biotechnology, biotherapy, electronics and instruments and controls.

Today, the Cleveland Plus is home to over 150 engineering companies, many of which specialize in civil engineering and construction.
