Immerse yourself in Cleveland's past and the natural beauty of the Ohio & Erie Canal National Heritage Corridor. It begins at Cleveland's lakefront and winds south along the historic Ohio & Erie Canal and finally ends at Zoar, Ohio, 87 miles from Lake Erie. Along the way, the corridor encompasses natural attractions such as the 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Tinker's Creek Gorge, a National Natural Landmark with spectacular cliffs, the 45-foot Mill Creek Falls and the scenic, 22-mile Towpath Trail.

Consider a beautiful ride aboard the vintage cars of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad which winds through the parks from stations in Independence and Peninsula.

Stan Hywet Hall and GardensSpend a day in the Akron/Canton area touring places such as  Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, one of the finest examples of Tudor revival architecture in America. Built between 1912 and 1915, the historic 65-room mansion sits on more than 70 acres of artfully landscaped gardens and grounds. At Hale Farm and Village you can journey back in time to the mid-1800s and be treated to a bit of living history. The Akron Art Museum has been expanded dramatically and will open in July of 2007 with many new features and much more space for exhibits. And, if you are a chocoholic, there's no better place to be than Harry London Candies.

Pro Football Hall of Fame and Museum
Head south on I-77 to Inventure Place, the National Inventors Hall of Fame, in Akron, approximately 40 minutes south of Cleveland. This interactive facility combines science and fun. Continuing south on I-77 for another 30 minutes will take you to Canton, home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where the legends of the game and the action of the American past-time come alive.
